My class of about 35!
Well, I've finally got a blog so I can keep everyone up to date because it's just too hard. Anyways I'm doing good, I've been in Kona, HI now for about 9 weeks and I love it here... It's definitely been a little hot, but the vog (volcano fog) kind of shades us off a little bit too so it's all good. As far my class goes, I'm taking the School of Biblical Studies through the University of the Nations here, and yes it really is a college class, it's not fake I promise. I've heard horror stories of how hard college is, and I must admit I feel like some of them are true! I don't get much free time to go and lay out at the beach like everyone thought I'd be doing 24/7, but I do on weekends, usually, hopefully, sometimes. Haha. Anyways we're going through the New Testament now. So far we've done: Philemon, Titus, Thessalonians, Philippians, Colossians, Mark, Luke, Acts, Ephesians, 1 Corinthians, and this week we're doing 2 Corinthians and James. And basically what we're doing is charting every chapter in each book. It may not sound like a lot, but it really adds up. Every chart includes doing observations: who, what, when, where, all that good stuff, and then we do 3-6 interpretations, we write to timeless truths, a summary of that chapter, and then we trace a few themes throughout. So yeah, it's not that the work is really hard, persay, it just takes a while. I figure I'm usually doing a chart an hour, sometimes a little more, and sometimes a little less. And when you have about 20 charts in a week then that's 20 hours dedicated to charting solitude! It's definitely a lot of personal time, but I think it's good because then I'm not just looking at what others think and copying their ideas. I know that God is really breaking down a lot of things in me that I thought were true, but by reading the Truth I'm getting to know what's real and it's just amazing. And though some days I don't necessarily look forward to doing more charts, I know that God will show me something that I hadn't seen before, and that's definitely encouraging. When you think about it; isn't it really the point in this life to get to know God more and to spread His Truth?

Hi Krista!!!! It is so great to hear from you. I have been thinking about you and wondering how things are going in college. I am not sure if calling Hawai would be the same as calling everywhere else in the states so I have not tried yet :P If it is, I would love to catch up on the phone.
What you are doing in school sounds really great, and you can go to the beach!!! it is getting really cold in here in NYC. I hope you will continue to have a great time, being challenged and grow a lot. I miss you! love,uu
Yeah it's going great, a lot of work like i said, but still awesome!
I can try calling you sometime soon; I think it's a 5/6 hour difference..? I hope you're loving it in NYC though, so fun!
miss you too!
